Our field of practice has been badly impacted
I have heard you, losing contracts and funding and jobs and having to work a lot for very little. We are going through tough times while the world is going through even worse. BUT, your job is important, your patients need you, kids and teens will always need to learn about bodies and health and there is still the need to advocate and fight for better sexual health and rights, especially for our trans and non-binary siblings who are on the front line of massive, undeserved hate.
Solidarity never goes out of style
I can’t do much as I am as broke as you all but as a thank you gift for existing and being wonderful and much needed, I am putting up for sale complete sex education kits (cis and enby bodies) for 350$.
Why so little compared to the usual price? Because they are made of hard plastic instead of silicone. It’s not as pretty. It’s not learn-by-touch friendly like silicone. You can not remove the clitoris from the see through vulva. But it shows all the details and is the most exact reproduction of real people’s bodies. So it’s better than nothing, and pretty shoestring-budget-friendly.
Why aren’t they usually available?
I made the decision to not work with plastic out of environmental concern as there is so much plastic going around and microplastics are EVERYWHERE (BTW, do you know there is a band called My Pussy Tastes Like Microplastic ?) and I would rather not have my basement filled with it.
But as our collective situation worsens, I may come back on that decision if you manifest the need for cheaper material. Always open to discuss and adapt, that’s what makes us humans.
